Hello, nice to meet you!

We are The Valley Doulas.

Maybe you find yourself standing on the edge of something powerful — excited, but also unsure. You're preparing to bring life into the world, but there’s a quiet voice asking…

"Can I really do this? Will I be strong enough? Will my voice matter when it counts?"
Your strength is already alive inside you — it's not missing, it's simply waiting to be fully claimed. You don't have to walk this path alone. We are here to listen, to stand beside you, and to support you as you

make choices that reflect who you are and what you want this birth to be.

Your transformation isn’t just possible — it’s already unfolding.
We know what it’s like to stand at the threshold of something that changes everything. Birth — and the becoming that follows — will stretch you, challenge you, and show you pieces of yourself you’ve never met before. We are not here to coach you through a script. We are here to walk alongside you — to help you meet the moments that matter, uncover your voice, and step into this new chapter with clarity, power, and heart.

OUR CORE VALUES

We believe birth is a profound unfolding — a transformation that touches every part of who you are. We are here to honour that, meeting you with deep respect, steady presence, and unwavering trust in your strength. Your story, your choices, and your voice matter. Our role is not to lead, but to walk beside you, to listen when the world gets loud, and to hold space for the moments that shape you.

OUR STORY

The Valley Doulas was built out of real life — the kind of life that tests you, grows you, and changes you forever. We’re women who have lived in birth, loss, matresence, and power. Our work is shaped by our own journeys as mothers, partners, daughters, and friends. We know what it’s like to stand at the edge of something unknown, to crave real support, and to wonder if anyone will truly see you.

Becoming: A Short Guide to Matrescence

An offer for a free eBook about self-discovery shown on a website, with a preview of 8 pages including images and text on topics like transformation and inner self.

Matrescence is the word for the massive identity shift that comes with becoming a parent.

Like adolescence, it’s hormonal, emotional, and life-altering—but unlike adolescence, no one prepares you for it.

It’s the reason you can feel joy and grief in the same breath. Why you might love your baby and still feel like a stranger to yourself.

This e-book offers language, validation, and reflection for the transformation that’s happening beneath the surface. You’re not lost—you’re becoming.

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Studies show doulas reduce the need for interventions and increase satisfaction with birth. But more than that, we help you stay connected to yourself and your values—no matter how things unfold.

  • Never. We enhance your partner’s role, not replace it. A doula helps both of you feel supported, grounded, and ready.

  • Yes. Homebirth, epidural/medicated births, VBAC, planned or emergency cesarean, unmedicated hospital births, induction—you name it.

We support your choices, your needs, your birth.

  • Midwives handle clinical care. Doulas are there for everything else—your emotions, questions, fears, and choices. We don’t deliver babies; we walk with people as they do.

  • The cost of a doula reflects more than just time at your birth. It includes prenatal visits, postpartum care, 24/7 on-call availability, access to tools and resources, and the unseen business costs of running a responsive and reliable support practice. You're not just paying for hours—you’re investing in consistent, expert care through one of the most significant moments of your life. You can expect to invest $1500+ and it can be split into multiple payments the earlier you book.

  • The sooner, the better. We’re more than labour support—we help prepare, plan, and anchor you long before birth begins. If you have eyes on a specific doula, get in for a consulr before they fill up!
